That's right folks, we're back with another instalment of Slack Spotlight - shining light on creators, makers, do-ers and thinkers that embody our pioneering spirit and DIY attitude. This months subject is a close friend of the brand, whho the eagle-eyed among you may recognise from some of our historic photoshoots - none other than Simon Mann AKA The Sheriff's Dirty! Read on for a quick-fire breakdown of his work so far and drink in the goodness!
Simon is a mixed media artist, former Harley Davidson and Lewis Leathers associate, specialising in detailed, textured and bold artwork.
Often motorbike and vintage car inspired, he produces psychedelic, mixed media art using digital scans of 35mm film, sheets of metal, paint, inks and everything in between.
Weaving together his background in fine art, over 13 years of riding motorcycles, working for Harley Davison and Lewis Leathers, sourcing vintage motorcycle clothing and Production Design to produce originals, limited editions and commissions.
His work is highly textured, detailed and bold, and often the longer you look at a piece, the more it shows you.
As Sheriffs' Dirty, Simon exhibited and debuted his work at our favourite UK chopper show 'The Hook Up', in 2023, as well as sponsoring South West Chopper Fest in the same year - it was a busy start, and he hasn't slowed down yet.
Following this he exhibited at Krazy Horse 2024, The 101 and South West Chopper Fest 2024 and The MBE in Verona among others.
However, in what must be a career highlight so far, Simon painted a custom Indian motorcycle (and Gibson SG guitar to match), for Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne to commemorate their final performancew, 'Back to the Beginning' - proudly on display among other incredible artists and musicians who had come together to make the event unforgettable.
Simon's work is ever expanding, exploring materials and most recently taking inspiration and physical cut outs from 70's Easy Rider Magazines, old motor bike tanks and large format, as well as custom pieces.
